Drs. David and Patti Bradley of Lake Oconee Dentistry are pleased to welcome Dr. Shelly Pound as the newest member of their dental team. Dr. Pound will be providing a full range of preventative, restorative and cosmetic dentistry services, including crowns and bridges, dentures and partials, professional whitening and more.
“Dr. Pound’s skill set is a great fit for our practice,” says Dr. David Bradley. “The enthusiasm, talent and focus she brings to the job will help us continue to offer a high level of dental care to area residents.”
Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, Dr. Pound studied at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry, and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. While in dental school, Dr. Pound volunteered with the Mission Lexington Dental Clinic, a faith-based practice that provided free dental care for low income patients.
Dr. Pound is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, the Student Professionalism and Ethics Association, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and Delta Sigma Delta. Her dedication and skill in her field have earned her the Kathryn M. Strong Scholarship, the National Dorothy Shaw Leadership Award, and the Ella Pierce Turner Award. Dr. Pound’s other professional accomplishments include providing dentistry for the Indian Health Services, serving the Salish and Kootenai Indian tribes, in Polson, Montana.
