KidsJust around the corner!  Festival of Trees is the largest holiday event of the season here in Greene County.  This year, the event will span two days!  On Friday and Saturday, December 6-7, the auditorium of Festival Hall in downtown Greensboro will be filled to “fairyland” proportions with glorious lighted and decorated trees, wreaths and table decor.   Entertainment throughout the day on Saturday will be provided by local musicians and singers.  Sharing the stage will be adult and children’s choirs, young violinists and strolling carolers.  Vendors with holiday goods will be on hand for visitors to purchase special gifts to place under their trees at home. The event will run all day from 10 AM to 5 PM, both days of the event.

Friday’s event is designed especially to appeal to women’s groups (clubs and “girlfriend groups”) so that they may take an hour or two from the busy season to leisurely stroll among the glittering forest and enjoy companionship amidst the festive decor.

On Saturday, Santa’s Secret Shop will again open and greet spellbound youngsters as they enter the doors of Festival Hall.  The huge, whimsical structure of Santa’s shop will beckon them to inside to find Santa’s elves in the workshop.  At Santa’s Secret Shop, gifts ranging from 25 cents to $10 will be displayed for kids entering with envelopes of Christmas gift money for the purchase of special family presents.  Helpful “elves” will be on hand to assist in this “kids only” activity.  Gifts will be placed in decorative gift bags before sending the young customers out to join their families at the event.

Tickets for Festival of Trees are:  Adults $5, Youth (8-18) $3 and Kids 7 and under FREE!  Purchase tickets at the front door of Festival Hall on Friday and Saturday, December 6 & 7.  Proceeds from this event benefit the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club.
