The Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation announces the upcoming third annual Amateur Fine Arts Contest and Show at the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, Georgia. Entries are being accepted now. The deadline for entries is Friday, March 28, 2014.
By this date, a photograph of your artwork, a completed entry form, and your entry fee is due at the Plaza. Within days, the entries will be juried by the Fine Arts Committee and the artists will be notified by email of acceptance into the show. Artists will then have a couple of weeks to get their artwork framed, if needed. We’ve allowed more time this year so that framing does not become a problem for the artists. The deadline to drop off the actual artwork is Friday, April 21. Please make sure that your entry has a hanger and appropriate information per the guidelines, is attached to the back.
Once the artwork is displayed, the judges will come in and make their selections. This year’s judging panel has yet to be finalized, but we always strive to have top artistic professionals as our judges. A reception will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 when awards will be given. There are ribbon awards for First, Second, Third places and Honorable Mention in each category, and a Best of Show award of $500 cash. Friends and family of the artists are invited to the reception.
The show opens to the public on Saturday, May 10, and remains open until Sunday, May 25, 2014. After which time, artwork can be picked up at the Plaza.
