East Georgia Cancer Coalition

logoCame across another wonderful organization that we wanted to make our readers aware of—the East Georgia Cancer Coalition. The mission of the East Georgia Cancer Coalition is to reduce the number of cancer deaths within the coalition region by insuring that all people receive cancer prevention education and information, early detection methodologies, referrals and follow-ups for appropriate treatment, and benefit from cancer research discoveries.

Established in 2001, the Georgia Cancer Coalition united state government, doctors, hospitals, public health agencies, advocacy and survivor groups, universities, non-profit and faith-based organizations, as well as the business community, around a single mission: To reduce the number of cancer-related deaths in Georgia. The GCC is funded primarily through the tobacco settlement agreement.
