Local investors celebrate construction progress

The Harbor at Harmony Crossing has opened its welcome center in Suite One, Building 117 of the Village at Harmony Crossing. The center is designed with the same finishes and furnishings to be used in the assisted living community—offering seniors and their families a glimpse of what life will be like for future residents.

Completion of the welcome center is the first of many milestones and celebrations for The Harbor. “We’re thrilled to be involved in offering this valuable service to folks living at or near Lake Oconee,” said developer and investor Lowell White, Jr. A 25-year resident of the area, White believes area families desire local influence, management and accountability. “The Harbor is supported by local investors and a nationally recognized Georgia-based management company that will be directly accountable for the community and to residents who will call this their home”.

Linda Selvidge, consultant to The Harbor and a local resident with seventeen years of senior living management experience, is working with the management company, Thrive Senior Living, and the local investor group to launch the project. “This is going to be a beautiful place to live that provides quality care when needed, exceptional service as expected, and advances in technology that those of us in the industry have only imagined until now” said Selvidge.

Also unique to the community is the partnering of a commercial construction company and a lake-area custom homebuilder. This collaboration will result in a senior living community with industry-leading safety features coupled with great attention to detail, including the finest of finishes and aesthetics.

The Harbor, scheduled to open in summer of 2014, will offer 60 assisted living suites with 18 of those dedicated to serving residents with memory loss. For those who wish to have early access to room selections, the Harbor is now accepting reservations.

Beginning in December, the welcome center will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10AM to 2PM. Interested parties may visit the center during those times or arrange an appointment otherwise by calling 706-438-4441.
